I saw at least 200 fleas today

It was so hot the cat's tongue was hanging out of its mouth, like a dog but pinker. I was running ahead, my legs aching, feet jarring every step on the sidewalk. My boyfriend was carrying the cat in my purse. He said he felt worse than I did. But he usually just complains more. My face was dark pink and my dress was sticking to me, transparent with sweat by the time we got to the corner.

It was my fault, I had tried to be smart and get the dealer to come faster. I'd pretended we were somewhere a long way from where we actually were. But they were late as usual, so the rush was all for nothing. I stopped at the corner and my boyfriend took the cat upstairs, out of the heat. He came back down five minutes later with a big glass of water for me. Suddenly he started jumping up and down, hitting himself. His arms were covered in fleas. His face was covered fleas. Even his black t-shirt and black jeans were glistening with their little dark brown bodies, shining in the hot sun. They started jumping off him and on to me. I started jumping up and down. He'd brush them off and then we'd change position walking a few metres away... each time leaving a pile of fleas in our place.

The heat must have made them all jump off the cat and onto him. I hope so anyway, but I can scarcely believe THAT many could fit on the cat's body. I mean, you look at his white spots and can see some scurrying under the fur, but not this many. And they were all uniform. No big monsters that you can bisect with your fingernails, just all little and hard. I've had enough now. The bloody expensive shit I rub all over the cat's body, the constant mewing and struggling when I comb him, vacuuming every five seconds. I honestly look infectious, I have these pink swollen lumps all over my entire body (even face). Yes, they bite my face. It's a fucking plague!

Ahem. Okay, I promise, no more flea-posts. They've even invaded this page.
Sit back.

YEa they are..very worth it. BE careful Tui..I've seeen cats..albeit very young kittens who's bllod was literally almost a pale pink because of how the fleas sucked them dry. Get a good flea product like FRONTLINE (buy at the vets they'll sell it to you with instructions)..no baths..flea collars or sprays..only requires a few drops (depending on weight) on the back of their necks inbetween shoulder blades so they cannot lick it off. This stuff does the trick. The cat must not e feeling very well. Tie all your shit up in green garbage bags..put your clothes..sheets..etc inside..spray with a good flea product..leave for 24 hours...vacuum..do the same to the rugs if youc an..throw the vaccum bag out..wahs the stuff in the bags after the 24 hours is up. And all should be well in your world again. But unless the cat is flea free it will just repeat. Best of luck.

PS..don't overdo the flea products when defleaing a cat..too much can kill them..less if more in the case of these products.

PSS: Also cats only sweat through there paws and ears..when they are panting like a dog they are overheated and in danger. If it's relly hot and you have to go out..leave a cold water tap running just a little..they will have acess to cold water that way. Some cats lie in bathtubs to cool down..the porcelin helps them to do so. Always provide shade or a cool place. Sorry if I sound preachy am sure you know what you're doing..have just seen so many horrible things as a result of people not knowing about this stuff. Took me eons of cats to learn all this..

Hope the bites are feeling better..you can pat them with white vineger water if the itching is driving you nuts...you..not the cat..1 part vineger to 3 parts water.

It's been wicked hot in Mtl. hasn't it...supposed to cool a little tonight.

stay well

=^. .^=

interesting.
it's not a piece of fiction.
but the narrator knows her face is pink.
cause she could see it somehow, walking down the street.
no, it is fictino. and badly written.

I used the bakery's phone. They have a huge mirrored wall.
I don't know why you need those details. Why anyone would. Most of all, I don't know why you bother reading badly written fiction. Please don't.

Anonymous..It's well known that people who post opinions..and silly ones at that..behind an anonymous identity..only wish they could be as talented or at lest have the guts it takes to spill their mind. At the very least have the balls or 'whatever' it is you
sport to say what you have to say with a name behind it. As it is.your words hold no weight around here..we happen to know the lady can write..and all we know of you is you mouth off your sad little take with nothing to back you up.

Be gone and get a clue.!

Hey Tu..how are kitty and you re: the fleas?

Mary... Thanks for the support. Those anons have problems. As for the fleas, I still look very um... poxy. But I think they're under control at least. Before, you could see tons running all over the cat's white tummy. Now, there's just a few snuggling up to his fluffy little balls. Perverts.

I second the Frontline. Get some quick!

I would use those "bombs" that you can get from the grocery. They usually come with three cans so you can put them in different rooms.

I hope you and your cat can go some place cool for about 8 hours.

The cat and I stayed at the boyfriend's last night. I set off 3 bombs. I think that should be the end of it. I keep combing him too. He has so many flea poops on him, and they're filled with his blood. Poor little guy. No wonder he's always such a grump.

Anytime Tu..what's their bloody point anyway these anons..I always ask myself. Just to be heard..that begs patience I just don't have when it's all about being rude.

GLad to knw kitty is almost flea-less. lol@theball fleas...about those precious furry cute lil balls..are they getting ready to spray your household in 'Eau d Ammonia' yet..he's coming up on being a mature male I believe. His Age svp and are you thinking of having the lil adorable hellcat neutered?

It seems cruel, in a way, but yes. For my wall's sake, I am going to get him snipped. He must be 5 months now. How long do I have? You know, I think I'll get him an anti-flea injection at the same time. After the 3 flea bombs in my tiny appartment we walked in and they jumped all overr us. Those little fucks can live through anything! The war continues..
