The womanly woman
There's a new trend. Big, curvy women are back. Or so I've heard. Apparently, in times of recession, curves are comforting. When people are having trouble feeding their kids, Kate Moss-like bodies stop being something to strive for. Quick, quit weight watchers!
You thought the old-fashioned pin up girls had curves? Check out the toil girls gallery. It's a voyeuristic kick. Les Toil makes modern day pin ups of fat women, "real" fat women, who send him their photos to draw from. On the site, you can see the photo the subject has sent him, as well as the final art.
Meet Cheryl, April & Deirdra.
For photos of them with their clothes on, have a looksy over at toilgirls.com

Hi Tui,
I've heard this as well -- no more super thin aspirations for us women. I guess it's something good about the recession. Think I'll go eat a cupcake!
Oh, funny...
Love the car pose.
My days of even being "thin" are over--thank God. Give me healthy and happy anyday...
Interesting.
Fashions are always so -- Josephine in 1805 looks modern via the Egyptians vis the Flappers via Edie Sedgwick and Kate Moss; vs. the more buxom counterpoises. Mad Men brings back some pre-Twiggy retro, I'm guessing.
Please keep writing.
I haven't really commented much, but I check back weekly. Your words are very inspiring.
sorry, just because you found some cartoons of obese chicks doesn't mean 'curves are back'. It just means you stumbled upon a pretty common fatty fetish. Don't worry 'tui', rail thin heroin girls like you will never have to try very hard to get anything they want in life, so long as you will spread your legs, and lie limp as some sweaty fat guy gets his rocks off on you.
To Anon comment above..
Hold a grudge much, sounds like
(a) You've been either one of the above, rail thin gal or fat receiver..or (b) you're just plain bitter.
Wish you luck.
